Baskets before plastic bins
Woven baskets with rope handles slide under beds and onto shelves without scratching historic floors. We specify sizes and quantities so every toy category has a home a child can reach.

Baskets, labelled drawers, and built-ins that children can use independently — sized for Haarlem rooms.
Labelled drawers at low height
Pictogram labels on drawer fronts help pre-readers tidy independently. Drawer height max 35 cm from floor — anything higher belongs to adult-only seasonal storage.
Knee-wall cupboards
Attic and dormer rooms waste space under the slope. Custom knee-wall cabinets with soft-close hinges add cubic metres without extending the footprint — critical when the room is already 10 m².
Wall hooks and peg rails
Coats, bags, and dress-up clothes leave the floor clear. We mount peg rails at two heights: child level and adult level, on solid blocking behind lath-and-plaster walls.
Out-of-room overflow
When the room cannot hold everything, we plan hallway cupboards or understairs niches as overflow — keeping the bedroom calm while acknowledging that Haarlem homes rarely include a separate playroom.

- 3.2 m of knee-wall storage with lift-up lids and open cubbies at ends. Painted to match wall colour for visual calm.
- Spaarne — basket system under loft bed
- Six uniform baskets on castor tray — rolls out for access, slides back for bedtime. Labelled with stamped leather tags.
- Jansweg — hallway overflow cupboard
- Narrow hallway cupboard (38 cm deep) for seasonal clothing and board games. Frees bedroom floor entirely.
